The Account Manager is responsible for creating and maximizing revenue generation within key accounts as well as smaller organizations.  Will drive the MRO strategy of value through the use of engineered reliability improvements and become the primary contact responsible for the development and management of key Airline/Aerospace Maintenance customer accounts for the Wencor MRO Companies.

Will be included in decisions and long term planning and goals, acting as an advocate for the customer, exploring prospective new projects and capabilities, playing a key role in contract negotiations, strategic sales planning, and closing on revenue opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Plan and prioritize personal account management activities and customer contact towards achieving agreed upon annual goals set by Senior Management.
  • Plan, build and manage personal customer relationships according to market development strategy determined by Senior Management.         
  • Manage customer product and services, pricing and margins according to agreed upon direction and goals.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with Senior Level members of the client.
  • Seek out and develop new opportunities/new customers through appropriate propositions and ethical methods to optimize business growth, quality of service, and customer and satisfaction.
  • Plan and execute personal business travel arrangements in support of customer needs and/or new opportunities to agree upon budgets. Includes but not limited to:
    • Plan and execute local marketing activities to agreed budgets and timelines.
    • Record travel plans, expense, and trip reports.
    • Present performance data, program proposals and other business opportunities at external customer meetings and/or internal meetings.
    • Respond to and follow up on inquiries and opportunities.
  • Assist in inventory/broker sales by seeking inventory purchases and sales opportunities.
  • Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information.
  • Assist the Director of Contracts in contract negotiations within customer portfolio.
  • Attend industry trainings to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills.


Minimum 5 years in an aviation sales related position. Bachelor's degree in aviation related field desired but not required.

Knowledge/Skills and Abilities (KSA's)


  • High energy, self-motivated, self-starter individual, with a proven history of quality leadership and relationship building skills (previous customers would speak highly of the relationship they had with them).

Specific Job Skills:

  • Able to communicate and sell effectively via written and oral media.
  • A persuasive and confident approach to customer projects and presentations.
  • Ability to quickly understand and present both the technical and value adds of the product offerings
  • Full understanding and experience applying the principles of marketing and advertising cost-effectiveness, including market sector targeting, product offer development, value added and features-benefits-solutions selling.
  • Ability to research market trends in repair and product pricing.

Computer skills:

  • Must be adept in use of MS Office, particularly Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Ideally be familiar with Quantum Control and MS Access or similar database.

Business/Sales Skills:

  • Must be an excellent face-to-face, email and telephone communicator with high customer focus.
  • Strong intrapersonal skills.
  • Able to demonstrate success and experience managing major accounts customers and large contracts.
  • Ability to work alone and within a sales team.
  • Able to understand profit and loss calculations and basic business finance.
  • Must be a very competent writer of business letters, quotations and proposals.
  • Demonstrate the ability to achieve genuine customer account development.
  • Ideal background would be in aerospace support services, primarily in component repairs and manufacturing.

Management Ability:

Though internal staff management is not initially part of the job, responsibility and opportunity could grow with the development of the business, for example the prospect of recruiting and managing support sales staff. Some people-management skills, experience and natural ability will be useful.


This individual will be expected to travel at least one week per month (USA & International) to support major accounts and new account development. Fluency in foreign languages desired but not required.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); prefer associate's, or bachelor's degree; and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:  Ability to write business correspondence.  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, vendors, and customers. Fluency in a second language preferred but not required.
